WebLink 6

Summary

When you load the WebLink start page, you may receive the following error message:

    Error: Access is Denied.

Cause

Anonymous Authentication is set up incorrectly for the WebLink Virtual Directory in Internet Information Services (IIS).

Resolution

This issue can be resolved by configuring anonymous access on the WebLink virtual directory in IIS.

To configure authentication on WebLink's virtual directory:

  1. On the server where WebLink is installed, click Start and click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools.
  3. Double-click Internet Information Services.
  4. Click the WebLink virtual directory.
  5. From the Action menu, click Properties.
  6. In the WebLink Properties dialog box, click the Directory Security tab.
  7. Under Anonymous access and authentication control, click Edit.
  8. Make sure the Anonymous access check box is selected.
  9. Make sure the User name text field is set to IUSR_MACHINENAME. MACHINENAME is the name of the server where WebLink is installed.
  10. Make sure the Allow IIS to control password check box is selected.
  11. After making the changes, click OK and exit from the IIS properties dialog.
