Summary

When you OCR images, you may receive the following error message:

ScanFix Computation during OCR failed.
OCR will continue.
Error Code 4001. (0) / Error Code 4003. (0)

Cause

The error can be caused by ScanFix settings.

Resolution

ScanFix settings will need to be modified to prevent this error from happening.

To edit ScanFix settings:

1. In the LaserFiche Client, click the document you want to OCR.
2. From the Tools menu, click OCR/Index Document.
3. In the OCR and Index dialog box, click Options.
4. In the Optical Character Recognition dialog box, click ScanFix.
5. In the LF Image Clean-up Options dialog box, clear the Inverse check box.
6. Try to OCR the document.
7. If you receive the same error, follow the previous steps to reach the LF Image Clean-up Options dialog box and clear the Deskew check box.
8. Try to OCR the document.
9. If you continue to receive the same error, follow the previous steps to reach the LF Image Clean-up Options dialog box. Then click the Noise button.
10. Clear the De-Speck check box.
11. Try again to OCR the document.
