Laserfiche Quick Fields 6.2 or later is unable to open Laserfiche Quick Fields 6.0 or 6.1 sessions containing OCR or Zone OCR processes. This issue only occurs if Laserfiche Quick Fields 6.0 or 6.1 was uninstalled prior to upgrading to a newer version of Quick Fields.

Opening a Quick Fields 6.0 or 6.1 session may return the following error message:

Failed to create (LFZoneOCR.BPExtractionProcess) object

The OCR engine provided for Laserfiche Quick Fields (version 6.2 or later) is I.R.I.S. DRS 8.0. As the newer version of Quick Fields no longer contains the Expervision OCR engine, it will not be able to open previously created sessions that use the OCR or Zone OCR processes.

Upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche Quick Fields by installing it on top of Quick Fields 6.0 or 6.1. Do not remove Quick Fields 6.0 or 6.1 prior to installing the newer version of Quick Fields. This preserves the necessary Expervision OCR engine files.
