Summary

Unlike the LaserFiche Client, WebLink cannot display redacted portions of an image or text in gray. This leads to an unexpected behavior where users with the See Through Redactions right will have no indication that a document has been secured with redactions.

Cause

WebLink attempts to save bandwidth usage by displaying in only black and white, versus grayscale. As a result, WebLink cannot display redactions in gray. The redactions are not displayed in the document image as well as the associated text. Users with the See Through Redactions right will have no visual indication that a document contains redactions. Users without the See Through Redactions right will observe the expected behavior and see black redactions on pages with redactions.
