The data and log files for your LaserFiche database will be created in a default location set by LaserFiche. This location depends on whether you are using MSDE or the full version of Microsoft SQL Server.

The location of the database files created using MSDE:

The data and transaction log files are stored in the root of the database directory. The database directory is the folder location specified when the database is created.

The location of the database files created using Microsoft SQL Server:

The data and transaction log files are stored on the computer hosting the Microsoft SQL Server. If the Microsoft SQL Server and the LaserFiche Server are hosted on the same computer, then the files are stored in the database folder. Otherwise, the default location of the files is the Data folder in the SQL Server installation folder on the server hosting the Microsoft SQL Server service. If you chose the default settings when installing the Microsoft SQL Server, the path is C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Data.
