Summary

Audit Trail is compatible with the LaserFiche Team system. However, when this product is used with a MSDE system, where database storage space is at a premium, you may wish to set the number of days events are stored in the database to a low number.

You will still be able to run reports on events that are no longer in the database, as Audit Trail also records events to .xml files. If the range of time specified in the report falls outside of the time of events in the actual database, Audit Trail will use the .xml files to generate the report. For installations of LaserFiche that require tracking of events for compliance purposes, but that won't run reports very often, limiting the amount of time events are stored on the database is very useful.

To configure the number of days events are stored in the database:

1. Load Audit Trail Monitor.
2. Log into the desired database.
3. Click the Archiving tab.
4. Enable the Save disk space by deleting indexing on events older than option.
5. Set the two dropdown lists for how long the events should be stored in the database.
6. Click Update.
