E-mail 6

Summary

LaserFiche E-mail (version 6) has been updated to allow more flexiblity when determining which pages in a single LaserFiche document will be included as attachments in the e-mail to be sent. This article will explain how you can take advantage of this feature.

More Information

You may now specify the pages that will be sent from a LaserFiche document by specifying the desired pages and page ranges.

When specifying the desired pages, you should keep in mind that each individual page and page range should be separated by a comma. The starting and ending page in a page range should be separated by a dash. For example, the following configuration "2, 4-6, 9-11" would cause pages 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 to be sent.

To specify which pages will be sent from a LaserFiche document:

  1. Select the desired LaserFiche document or batch.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Send Document(s). The LaserFiche E-mail Plug-in dialog box will appear.
  3. Select the Pages option.
  4. Under the Pages option, specify the desired page or page range.
  5. If you would like to include another page or page range in the e-mail to be sent, then you should type a comma and then repeat the previous step. If you are finished specifying which pages will be sent, then you should proceed to the next step.
  6. Optional. Under Format, determine the format in which images will be sent.
  7. Optional. If you would like to configure additional settings, click Advanced. When you are finished configuring advanced settings, click OK.
  8. Click OK.
  9. The Choose Profiles dialog box will appear. Select the profile associated with the e-mail address and the e-mail application through which you would like to send the attachments. LaserFiche E-mail will log into your MAPI-compatible e-mail system. If it cannot log in, you will be prompted for login information.
  10. Your MAPI-compatible e-mail system will open an e-mail message window which will contain the selected attachments. Fill in the recipient’s address, the subject, compose the message, and then send the e-mail.

Note: If the name of your document or batch has any of the following extensions: (.tif, .pcx, .bmp, or .jpg); the E-mail plug-in will strip the extension from the filename and add an extension appropriate for the format in which the image will be sent.
