Importing List Files May Prevent Some Images From Being Imported.

Import Agent 7

Summary

Laserfiche Import Agent can import list files into a Laserfiche repository. If a list file references a multi-page TIFF file, then only the first image in the multi-page TIFF file will be imported. The remaining images in the multi-page TIFF file will not be imported into Laserfiche.

Resolution 1

This issue is resolved in Import Agent 7.0.1. Please upgrade to the latest version of Laserfiche Import Agent.

Resolution 2

There is a hotfix available for Laserfiche Import Agent 7.0. The fix is an updated version of LfImgSnw74.dll. The fix is included in LfImgSnw74.dll (version 7.4.0.5 and later).

To update LfImgSnw74.dll

  1. Click here to download a zip file containing LfImgSnw74.dll (version 7.4.0.5).
  2. Replace the LfImgSnw74.dll located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Laserfiche\System with the one included in the zip file.
  3. Restart the Laserfiche Import Agent 7 service.
    1. Open Services, which can be found by opening the Control Panel and then Administrative Tools.
    2. Select the Laserfiche Import Agent 7 service.
    3. From the Action menu, select Restart.

More Information

Importing a list file that references a multi-page TIFF file will only import the first image in the multi-page TIFF file. Although a page in a Laserfiche document will be created for each of the remaining images in the multi-page TIFF file, the images associated with those pages will be the first page of the multi-page TIFF file. As a result, the remaining pages in the multi-page TIFF file will be lost.

A Laserfiche product that generates list files is Laserfiche Snapshot 6. Laserfiche Snapshot 6 will create multi-page TIFF files when the Create Multipage Image check box is selected. Unless you apply the hotfix, this issue will occur when using Laserfiche Import Agent to import list files generated in this manner.

This issue was introduced with LFImgSnw74.dll (version 7.4.0.3).
